I painted the Queen of Hearts (Queen Elizabeth II) and the Royal Corgi without any particular plan for them but did think they would make nice greeting card designs. Therefore, I was delighted to be recommended to Helen at Live Wires a wholesale stationery & gifts company who has a New Zealand wide retail distribution. She also thought they'd make nice greeting cards but said that Ôtwo would get a bit lost in the mix'. So after a few weeks of frantic painting I added Lambington, PavlovaEwe, Birdsong and Frida Aotearoa to the range.
The original illustrations were painted in squares 350 x 350mm on 185gm Arches watercolour paper. I used Photoshop to create a portrait composition for the cards.
